Transmission kibbles and bits

Hi all,

The transmission in the dually finally let go. I'm gonna tell the whole story tomorrow, as I'm too tired to type it all out right now. Suffice to say, I was about 500 miles from home in Louisiana, pulling a fema trailer. I now have 4th gear-that's it. The rest of it is a banging rattling neutral. The story is just about fit for a book, and I can promise you guys that you'll be getting some good laughs.

The departure of the transmission is significant because it had stood steady behind that cummins for just about EXACTLY 270,000 miles. It has had the rated torque capacity doubled on a number of occasions, so I can't complain a bit. The rearend has succumbed twice, and now the trans. I just hope the engine never bites the big one like this.
