Tranny blanket

Installed a tranny blanket from Lofgren Auto Specialties today and as promised it fit without any problem. [smilie=e:

Basically it's a RCI piece that has been trimmed to fit the 727 without interfering with the shift linkage and lines.

Heaven forbid it will ever need to come into service but I feel better having it in place. [smilie=::

Better safe than sorry. I like the lofgren blanket and will be getting one before i hit the track with mine. Beep, what are you running for a valvebody ? Low band apply ? Bolt in sprag ? Any other tranny mods ? Just curious....

Ron

Cheeta forward pattern manual V/B without lowband apply. Of course one with lowband apply is much safer but this is what I have. Only other mods are red racing clutches and kevlar band. I learned much more about building these things after it was done of course (such as lowband apply, custom sprags ,drums ect... [smilie=e: ) but my budget says run what I have for now. [smilie=e:

It should be ok as long as ya don't do first gear burnouts, as you know. I went with the new TA "prostreet" mvb in the forward pattern and will be getting the trans rebuilt with a bolt in sprag. It should be fine for what i want to do.

I looked at the griner mvb but heard that they are extremely harsh shifting and need to be modified for street use.

i use the reverse pattern cheetah vb & bolt sprag in a fireball trany i put in last year. fireabll stay it's good to 800hp. i changed the oil before running this year & it was mint. 20 passes so far this year & had our best 60' on our last 2 runs on sunday 1.61.
