Hi all,
Sorry I haven't posted much (maybe some of you aren't?)-I've been terribly busy lately, especially since the store (pull a part) opened last Monday.
As many of you know, I have quite a few big blocks lying around in various states of assembly and disassembly. I've long known that we only inherited one big block chrysler out of all the cars we got when pull a part bought the existing yard we took over. That one resides under the hood of a '73 newport that's now set out on the yard, available to the public.
Well, today I was walking around the old section (meaning the section that all the cars we inherited but have not yet processed and placed on the yard), and out in the middle of nowhere with no vehicles around stands a 400 and 727. Notice I said "stands"...the tailshaft of the 727 is pointing at the sky. It would appear that it fell out of the sky and did a faceplant in the mud in the middle of the field. Maybe it's God sending me another 400! Or, maybe it fell out of the back of a truck or van being carried on a loader across bumpy terrain...
In any case, it's quite odd that I never noticed it before in whatever truck or van it resided in the back of, since I've personally looked at all 2,592 vehicles we inherited from the previous owner.
As my buddy John said, "it's a sign nigga, it's a sign" One thing for sure is that it's a sign I'm getting yet another big block/727 for free or damn near free-since they're by themselves and not in a vehicle, they're cores. So if the manager even wants me to pay anything for them I'd pay the core charge minus the 50% employee discount. That would work out to like $30 or so. He'll probably just say take them away.
There are definite perks to working in a junkyard!
