first, my exhaust dropped right before I left. My mechanic wire exhaust hanger broke...after almost a year and a half. Damnit. so i have to rehang it. i finish rehanging it, the next day the stupid thing broke again!! DAMNIT!! then i blow a the fuel line that goes from the fuel filter to the carb. almost started a fire but i was lucky i didnt have a fuel gauge that worked. Right as the line blew and it flamed up is about a second before I ran out of fuel. :?

What's next??

in other news, since it seems I will never sell this aspen for more than $300....If i dont get someone to buy it soon here (no, not for 300.) im gonna start tearing it apart and turning it into a damned drag car. At least then I'll get some use out of the stupid thing. included in this will be a poll.

yes folks, i am having one of those pissed off weeks where you want to sell everything and go buy some other brand of car.

Wow...what a bummer...I woulda given you the $300. Oh well....*walks away whistling*

unfortunately i need around 600 for it, I've been asking 700, and one guy came up and offered me 300 for it. yea right, keep trying buddy. it was an insulting offer i thought.

Any of the other 33 viewers wish to comment on this? hard to beleive of all the people i know that YOU guys dont have a comment of some sort.....lol

Well, this is my first view :P

Which car(Year/model) is this? Any pics?

Depends on your goals. You'll be hard pressed to find a decent daily driver I think for the same price again.

Mine will eventually be a pro-street car :)

Well Russ - hard as it is to believe, I was going to bite my tongue on this one so as not to cause hard feelings.

But you asked, so: I would not pay your asking price for that car. A lot of that is due to the fact that I really do not care for that body style, so it is personal. There is probably the right guy for that car, to whom it is worth 6 or 7 hundred bucks so you either have to be patient and wait for him to come along, or take a loss if you want to sell it quickly.

Now keep in mind that from my perspective with the Canadian dollar, we are talking about a $1100.00 car here.....

Sorry man, but that's the way I see it.

its a 77. Check my for sale ad on this site, i have a pic in it I beleive.

its reliable and all, but its not that great of a highway vehicle. and where I'm going (North Carolina...during the summer no less) it'll be an absolute bear to drive it daily.

Sell the dang thing!!
Save up some money for an older A-body perhaps?
I had a '78 Road Runner some years ago and it was a fun car but not really a keeper IMO.
It had a sweet runnin' 318 from a '71 Dart, shift kit and sure grip, little bondo in the quarters and a backyard paintjob that looked pretty good and I ended up trading it for a $800 motorcycle.I never looked back.....

If it was me I would sell it only because I dont care for that body either (no offense meant). But if you like the car you can make it fast. I am just more into the 60's and early 70's muscle cars body style's but thats just me. You gotta go with it if you really like it but if not unload it and get what you really want. Good luck , Ron

Already got a Volare waGOON.

You're in a tough spot, Russ... no doubt. I mean, I like the "Aspolare twins" just fine, but even I have to say it's a tough sell. The reality of it is that F-bodies just aren't high-dollar/high-demand cars, even the more-desirable Kit Car and Super Coupe variations. Even guys like me--who would otherwise jump at it--have to look at the reality of it:

The Slant Six means that most of the drivetrain/suspension stuff has to be replaced anyhow, so the advantageous mileage is essentially meaningless.

The double green color scheme means even though the interior is flawless, it needs to be replaced entirely. That's just way too much vinyl dye to be reasonable. It's also a bench seat/column shift, for which most folks don't care.

The body damage means a potential buyer is looking at dumping a few hundred into parts just to get to a straight (but still mostly green) starting point.

I would say if you really wanted to be rid of it, put it on eBay as a no-reserve auction with an opening bid of about $300-$350. You might get a decent buck for it, or you might not. But, realistically, fairly-clean V8 versions with better color schemes can still be had for your asking price... and slant sixes for less. It seems your worry over this particular car to date would have made it worthwhile to cut your losses on it some time ago.

My '81 LeBaron--essentially just a formal-roof Aspen--sat for sale for 5 months with an asking price of $400 until I found it. It's also a tilt-six but is triple red (not a huge fan, but it beats green). Though it has two small rust-through areas it's otherwise clean--no collision damage. It also came with 15x7 late-style (Type II or C-body) Rallye wheels. I paid $349 for it.

The later iron just doesn't bring the decent coinage. That's great if you're into it, but it really sucks if you're trying to get out of it.
