Beware. Heard on the radio yesturday that in L.A. the new fad is to slip under Trucks and SUV's and either unbolt or saw off the cataletic convertors and take them to the local scrap dealers and get $200 a pop for them. L.A. alone last year lost 4000 to these fiends. Replacement of these can run up to $2000 ea. The reason for this is the platnum inside goes for $1500 an ounce.[smilie=f:

Nothin new about it, been going on for quite some time already. Several dealerships got hit hard in the Twin Cities area awhile back.

We keep our cores under lock and key, and grin widely when the core buyer comes a callin.

I guess they are just starting to accummilate and publish some of the stats. Around here there are always ads in the newspapers saying we will pick up your cat for free. At those prices these scroungers would do quite well with the people who do not know the value of the used cat.

Man If I had know how much Cats would be worth today I wouldn't have tossed them all into the scrap metal pile...DOOOH:helpme::naughty:

yeah, yup getting crazy out there,

When do the fines for no cats start going up?

Damn, so with a pre-cat, regular cat, a full tank of gas, and scrap metal, My RC is worth almost.......750 bucks. Frick the wheel weights on it are worth a buck.

they bling they produce from this platinum..... worthless.... or is it posed to be priceless?

The most popular (horked) scrap here is copper. Abandoned houses and mines are the primary targets of thieves. I knew of one a$$-clown who hoarded pennies thinking he was going to cash em' in for scrap, what a TARD!

The last cat I sold yielded $50!:bravo:
