Trying to find my weed and
Went to Detroit yesterday afternoon to see a guy I met through Moparts. (Hold giggles till done) Gave me a '74 318, complete, for free :). Glad I didn't drop a G note on that parts car last month. Motor is super clean inside. So now the question begs. If it turns out to be a steel crank motor it would make a fine hipo 'teen. Or I could drop down on the 360 XL has laying about. Can't afford the 8 3/4 rear for the big power so a stout 8 1/4 will have to do. Decisions decisions. :hmmm:

the 8 1/4 will hold out for quite a while behind a stout 318..i do like the 318s and 273s for the windability but the grunt of a 360 in an A is unmatched

As long as it doesnt hook up and you dont get too carried away with the smokies, the differential you have will work just fine. Good score!

Even better, I did the date codes on the block and it turns out to be a '69 engine. I just like the sound of "69" better ya know.:toot:

You will like the compression ratio and power output level better yet. 69 is the best year for most anything usually.

mmmmm 69 318 wooo thems the good ones tho ive seen a few 68 318;s and a few 70s that had the good stuff inside of em...shure beats the hell out of the smogers

68 & 69 318's had the highest comp ratio ever produced in the 18. ;)
