"The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 features Super Snake-specific modifications including a polished Whipple supercharger, the Shelby Extreme Cooling system, a performance intake, a billet throttle body, high-performance fuel injectors, and a Shelby-tuned Borla exhaust system. Shelby American rated the engine at 825 horsepower"

I hate it when people cheese up their seats like this

There was a local guy who had a barracuda embroidered into his back seat. Naturally we called it the trouser trout cuda.

The Charger might have better return on investment.

Carroll Shelby hasn't had anything to do with cars for well over a decade, what with being dead taking up most of his time. Sorry, but with no Carroll involvement it's not a Shelby.

Wait a minute now, we're talking about the price of 68 Chargers and you're trying to bring logic into the conversation?

The winning bid was $118,000.

There is no logic to 2nd-generation Charger pricing. The only explanation I have for that is the kids that grew up watching "The Dukes of Hazzard" now have way too much money. When new, the 3rd-generation cars' styling was much-better received by both the motoring press and the public than the 2nd, and the former far outsold the latter. Of course, the '70 models are also desirable for their easy conversion into a Dayclona.

I consider myself lucky that there's not a single 2nd-gen Charger in my "Top 10" list of cars to own until we get into the "money notwithstanding" version of the list. On that list, a Daytona would squeak its way in... down near the bottom.

I blame it on Bullitt and propaganda that convinced people it is the best-looking car ever built. But I also never "got" the Dukes and never watched it. I was also 18 when it started (in 79) so I had better things to do.

I had just turned 9. It's hard to believe you're twice my age! 😆

Even so, I'd figured out that every episode was the same within the first season, and had abandoned the show entirely by the end of the second.

Absolutely nothing about that Mustang I find even remotely appealing...if I HAD to choose one thing maybe the paint colour and quality?

I'd take a 3rd Gen Charger over a 2nd Gen any day! I had a 69 Charger and it was a cool car, but my 73 Roadrunner was a way better car over all, ride, handling, ergonomics etc.

meanwhile id take a first gen over all of them LOL..some reason i prefer them...and still think a marlin roofed dart with a "scaled" 66 charger gut would look AMAZING
