there are very FEW cars that can pull off the "look"...and in 99% of the cases have to have the balls to match as well as the engine glam that comes with those kind of balls...BIG superchargers and tunnel rams

[smilie=f: ....hey be right back...going to get my balls[smilie=g:

I dont think I need big balls. lol

Personally, I think real flames are awesome but only belong on certain cars. Most cars they look good on are modern rods and muscle cars (larger wheels (16-17"), lowered a little, etc.).

I should rephrase that to modernized muscle cars with what I mentioned. I don't think the flames would look good on a muscle at stock ride height with Magnum 500s or Rallyes on it.

Didnt you almost get in trouble for racin your bud with a furd ranger or something a while back? Sounds like a muscle car to me.:toot:

.....................................and doing a smokie in the Wal-Mart parking lot :toot:

Though we did compare trucks, mines got torque up the @$$, but his has a little more top end (when he caught up anyway). Though he wasted me with his big block lincoln, i had no chance in hell with that thing :bwuhaha:

As cool as they look, how long before they are so _over_ done they look like the insipid OCC/WCC stickers and shirts everyone else is wearing?

I saw a guy at the starting line at Milan Dragway just a couple days ago with real flames all over the front of his car.....ouch.

it requires specific body lines to pull the "look" off...it semi works on that vega cause of the nice rolling lines...our mopars are to boxy to pull it off very well even more traditional can look out of place...say on a dart there wrong whereas a cuda they work a bit due to the rolling lines

It's a 70-71 crapmaro 69.5.

Yup. The only style of Camaro I really like. Nasty looking machines, especially when hot-rodded.

In fairness, the early vega front ends did look a lot like a shrunken version of 'em...

I can't say that anything bigger than a 15" wheel looks right on muscle - era cars. The lack of sidewall may help with handling, but does not suit the styling of the cars IMO. I have seen some newer cars with the big rims approach that don't look too bad.

My older brother had a 70 split bumper in high school, lotsa fun times in that car.

Yeah - I knew a guy in high school who had one as well. He sold it so he could buy a '69 RS. That was stolen and parted out in the mid -80's but he's still got the two '69 judges he owned back then.

I always thought he should have kept the 70-1/2 Camaro.
