The 01 Dakota seat I ordered for the 66 showed up today...told him to leave it on the truck. [smilie=e:

First of all it was gray and not black as I was told and they looked as if a stack of rusty and grease smeared parts had spent a good deal of time sitting on them. If thats their version of "nice" I'd hate to see what a "usable" one would look like. [smilie=r:
And to top it off it was strapped to the back of a flatbed rolloff truck with nothing covering it...forking thing was covered with road salt/spray. Fuggin brilliant. [smilie=e:

Gonna keep looking....any ideas?

No pre pay...they bill us at time of delivery and then we mail a check.
The sales guy called me back later to ask what the problem was...he said it was almost black and thought that was good enough. I told him if it was clean... not rust and grease stained it might have been ok and the whole salt spray deal just plain pissed me off. He seemed suprised about the road salt. I'm betting someone will be getting a lesson on the use of tarps. :D

I just picked up a set of 1984 BMW 528e seats for $20. Leather, fully adjustable (manually), and no rips though typical leather wear.

Sadly, they're dark brown. I don't know how to change the color of leather; vinyl dye apparently won't hang. I'm trying to figure out what I can do for them since I need them to be red.

Dark brown to red? Probably not much. In my limited knowledge of dyes, dark colours to a lighter colour (if you want to call red lighter), doesn't happen easily.

A bit more grease, some road grime, and VOILA!! They're black!

You're just not very optimistic... ;)
