2 is factory and got my vote. I barely tweaked my hitch going into the local place but could go everywhere with factory lift and factory sized tires except the steep incline only because it was too narrow of a path. So I guess you need to figure out where you are going to run and what the locals are using successfully.

What size tire are you gonna run? 38's are the biggest legal in NJ, when I was gonna fix the yellow truck I was thinkin about taking it back to stock, and seeing how much lift I needed for 35's. Remember you WILL have to go though the tilt test with more than 2" of lift. 6" would look good, but think of stability. I know I told you to go with that, but I don't have to drive it, or get into it on a daily basis either.

how big of tires do you want to run and whats the trucks intended purpose? and if your talking bodylift then the answer is none. ramchargers are like broncos. they're top heavy enough without help.

8 inches. 10 would be better. Oh yeah........

oops...wrong forum. :shifty:

realy we need to know what your plans for tires are first...second of all STAY AWAY from body lifts..springs are the only way togo.....now theres some tricks i learned with lifting a RC....if your not to overly concerned about rock crawling then id go with 3/4 ton lift springs for a 72-78 3/4 ton dodge truck this will compensate for the extra mass of an RC...giveing a slightly stiffer ride with less body roll and you will be less likely to hit the tires on the wheel wells with less lift required....

i personaly would not order a "kit" but would goto a local spring shop and talk with them about it since there going to be cheeper more than likely and can get you the springs sooner without shipping costs

im just thinking about 35" or 36" tires.... not really into the rock crawling idea.... but i want something that can be as useful as it is cool looking....

Buddy of mine has a 88 Ford F-150 with 31's. He recently had a 2" lift installed and it looks a bit meaner. I was suprised at what just a 2" lift will do. I'd say got 2 or 4 for looks. 6 is kinda pushin it for a RC.

yeah id say that a true 6 inch is pushing it on an RC unless the tires warent it..but like i said 3/4 ton springs will require less lift to clear the tires..the 3/4 tons i put together on mine gave me just enuf to clear the 33's on HARD corner bounces without hitting the tires or needing clearance on the wheelwells.......cause its the hard corner bounce that you have to worry about when playing in the mud(ie going straight but wheels cranked and ya hit a bump while in the slop)

you forgot to mention the bit about no doors and one hell of a hard rollbar!!! :D aahhhhhhh good times, good times. :p:cool:

i prefer the sound of your head hitting the tailgate or you almost going thru the passenger window cause ya didnt pull your belt tight

fishy can vouch for the 3/4 ton springs..they work

Passenger window would require DOORS!!!!!! You never ran with DOORS remember!:bwuhaha:Ok there was that one time... :shifty:

and as for the tailgate incident... (even though I laughed alot harder about it than you did):finger::finger: :D:D

i think i prefer the frame stress check of pothole hell next to baxters

wich reminds me..pull your front shock mounts off of the frame and inspect that the frame hasnt been cracked there as its a common problem best solved BEFOR it happens by welding in a plate behind the shock mounts to double the thickness of this stress point

Yeah I remember Pothole Alley. Well I'll be pulling the Jeep apart as soon as weather gets nicer. Will check then. For now it sits.

will the 3/4 ton springs fit front and rear? another question.... does anyone know what the dimensions for the Rc's are as opposed to the regular trucks?

Not sure on the dimensions but I know the front end tracks a bit wider than the rear. At least 69.5's does.
