The Dakota is up and running again. I got a tip to check for a busted wire junction near the distribution box so I pulled the box from the inner fender and began exposing the harness.
There are 3 red wires with a white stripe that join into a singe wire of the same color,this connection was rotted/broken so I soldered and shrink wapped the offending area and all is good again. [smilie=e:
