Well....good luck to you Mr. Viking. I quite cigarettes just about 2 years ago & still find myself "edgy" most of the time.

...I may start again...

Then maybe..your not ready to quit yet.

I swear its so easy now..compared to last year.

I dont miss the smell ,dont have a problem with
smokers around me ..it just aint my thing anymore
yanno, wierd huh! [smilie=e:

Mebbe. I sure thought I was ready.

I don't miss the cough or the stink or the damage to clothing etc to be honest. But on stressful days, (most of 'em lately) I sure would like a smoke....

The 30 pounds I put on since needs to go away as well.

But I'm happy you are doing well with it. Good to hear.

Amen brother, been six years for me now and about 35-40 pounds of extra gio [smilie=e:

You wanna smoke at my house?, sure, but i only have one ashtray left, da back yard.

Keep at it Vik, it's well worth it. Six months from now you'll actually be able to smell your food the way it was supposed to be.

Been over 5 years from a pack a day habit. Picked up 45 pounds, lost it, picked up 80 pounds, lost it. Love the smell of them while being smoked, but not to the point of caving for one. Hate the smell of the old smoke on a person. Can't believe I smelled like that for so many years. A good phart is more pleasant.

Uh-huh...being that a large % of the people I work with on a day to day basis still smoke, it gets really tough some days.

If I make it past the end of this summer, I will be OK....

Keep at it guys. Your long term health will thank you. The one thing both my parents used to say was that was the one habit they wished they had never started. Late in life health problems just wouldn't give up and it took my mother with cancer 1 1/2 years ago. Family of 5 and I was the one that never started and I'm still glad I never took it up. Keep up the good work hope you can shake the monkey. My Wife gave it up a little over a year ago now. She has no desire and sure smells better too. Just think of the money you will save for gas now.

Would like to buy you a [smilie=a: Don't give up!

Coming up on six years... I still want one occasionally. :(

I gained like 70lbs initially, but I was only ~160lbs to begin with... not enough on a 6'2" frame. I've dropped better than 20lbs since the initial spike. I should still lose another 15 or so.

I noticed no improvement in the taste or smell of food, either--and I smoked over 2 packs a day. I do notice the stale smell on others now (and myself if I go to a bar) and I'm glad it ain't me... but if it weren't $5/pack now, I'd likely start again. I never cared about the health concerns; it was just too damned expensive (they were around $3.50/pack when I quit).

What did I do with the money I saved? I bought a house.

I quit when I joined the army. They were 3 buks a CARTON. Every time I went to get one out there would be 10 soul brothers bummin so I just got my carton out and gave them all a pack and solved that problem. But then about 8 yrs later I did 30 days in the hole *county time* and started up again. [smilie=e:

Great song, didn't know you were a musician. :D

I did.

I had been at pretty much the same weight since I graduated High School. (24 years) Put the poundage on big time in the first year since quitting.

Wifey quit at the same time, she actually lost a bunch of weight before quitting, then put back twice as much on.

In your case Vik, you work out regualrily - so I bet it won't be as big an issue.
