Going to a T & T tomorrow with Ron Jr and Tim. We will be taking Tims SRT-4 and Jrs Dart. Got the McCreary's on the Dart and a brand new set of SS springs. Hoping she 60ft's better. Tim wants me to make a few passes in his SRT-4 and Jr wants me to make a pass in the Dart so he can see if he can go faster then the old man. Yea right !! [smilie=b: Ron

Ok all in all it was a fun day. All cars ran good and nothing broke. The weather was not as good as I hoped for. I wanted 50's or 60's nice cool air and we got 75 with a hot sun and a headwind. The SS springs did not help the Dart one bit. It really did not run great as it ran 12.50's @ 109 all day. 60 ft's were about the same and the McCreary street tires are geting worn out and its got a whine noise coming from the convertor area. I think it may has busted a vane in the convertor but we ran it anyway. Jr was very good running 12.53 three runs in a row and a 12.55 and 12.57. The boy can drive good but I made one pass and went 12.51 @109. It had its usual mph as it averages 109 on normal days and 110 in good air but seemed to be a good tenth off. My brother took this Duster he threw together for a street car. It has the same basically stock 383 like the Dart has with the .484 cam but he uses 5.13 gears and a 5200 stall convertor and man does it 60 ft. It only ran 1 mph more then the Dart at 110 but it dipped in the 12.0's with its 1.64 60 ft times. The Dart was doing 1.82 60 ft's today. Just goes to show how some gear and convertor help the 60 ft times. As for Tim in the SRT-4......he had some trouble trying to get it to launch without spinning the tires. But he is only 16 and its his first time ever driving a car at the track and its a stick car at that. He could only get a 14.6 @ 100 mph so I had to show him how its done. I made 2 passes in the 14.2's trying to get used to it and then ran my best of 14.01 @ 101 mph with a soft launch not spinning the tires. I am sure I can get it in the 13's with a little more practice but you really have to baby it out or it will spin the tires and kill the et. We all had a blast and all cars are still intact. Sounds like fun! Did you have problems with the Dart hooking with the old springs? Or are you experimenting?

/me likey Duster!!!! Looks clean.

/me also likes other cars, too.

in fact me likey most sporty US cars (except for FWD ecoboxes, but R/T is cool) ...

Looks like those torsion bars could use a few turns up on the Dart. Get a little more weight transfer to the rear. When I put the SS springs into my Dart it raised the rear of the car a couple inches and lost some traction. After cranking the front up about 8 or 9 turns the car hooked like a mofo.

Sounds like Jr's doing well. Very consistant ! [smilie=e:

Nuthin like the fragrent aroma of frying rubber on a beautiful morning-coupled with the sound of a good runnin big block.Glad you had fun. [smilie=e:
