Stupid log in question

ok when you type your log in name into the log in spot a bar pops below it with your name all typed out so you can just hit the down arrow key and hit enter....well I have like 5 or 6 typo variations of fishboy that show up too....any way to clear that out so i can get only " fishboy " to pop up after I clear it and log in again?? Just curious.
 
You'll need to clear all cookies and temp files on your 'puter.

I stumbled across something loaded with cookies on this laptop once but dont remember how.

Go into My Computer, it's pretty straightforward, when you open either folder, go to View and choose Select All, right-click anywhere and Delete.;)
 
Hmm i did that but dont have Select All under View.....I have Select All under Edit but no delete option. I might be doing it wrong:doubt:
 
Yup. I get View from right clicking but still no delete option.....no big deal if I can't get it cleared. Just a matter of wanting it cleared out not needing it done lol.
 
Actually, it can be a lot easier than that.. if it's what I think it is.

Next time you are going to log in to moparnuts, don't type your name, just doubleclick on the "member name" box. Your correct and incorrect screen name choices should show up. All you have to do is highlight and delete the ones you want to make dissapear.
 
double clicking brings up all my log in names (mistakes as well as names on other boards) but wont let me delete anything from the list. Tried clicking on a name I want deleted and putting it into the bar then highlight, right click and delete and it takes the name out of the box but not off the list. Oh well, I'll figure something out someday lol. Unless DCF knows of another way to go about it:D
 
just click on the log in when it brings up all the log ins just put the mouse arrow on the top name so it is highlighted and press delete on the keyboard till all the name are gone . then type in you corect log in .
 
mannye and rav are right, you should be able to highlight the ones you don't want and hit the delete key on your keyboard. You have to do them one at a time I think and you have to do them with the list open - don't select one and then try to delete because that's just like deleting something that you typed in...

I usually start typing in my username and then when the list drops down, I use the arrow keys on my keyboard to move down the list. I stop on one that I want to delete and then hit the delete key.

If you want to start out fresh, you can clear all of your entries like this:
(I'm assuming that you are using Internet Exploder)
Click Tools
Select Internet Options
Click on the Content tab
Click on the Autocomplete button in the Personal Information section
Click the clear forms button

That will clear out all of your entries that were ever stored in your IE history.
 
Thanks DCF but I'll stick to Rav's way for now. Lots easier and less complicated for a puter laymen such as myself:D
