hi guys,its been a while!

I still havent been able to make it back to my house yet.the hurricane forced us to evacuate and i am told i had over 8 ft of water in my house with some of that delicious lake ponchatrain mud coating everything in site!i think i will be home in 2-3 weeks,i cant wait to see how bad my challenger looks, its driving me nuts.i dont think it has any "new"damage other than being submerged in water for a day or so,but the drain plugs, windows, fenders, etc.were all removed previously,so hopefully it will just need a good pressure washing.the rebuild plans are definitely on hold since i am just renting a house and pretty much lost everything i own,but i will still post updates whenever possible.i am in houston right now at the library using the computer.that hotel room just seems to be getting smaller and smaller.

good news is..i have a lot of work to return to so 20-30 hrs a week of overtime is going to help me get back on track

nature sucks

Man, sorry to hear about your place and your car too. We had flooding here in 96 and it did plenty of damage. City and county building ordinances have since changed and our dikes are better than ever now. Hope you can salvage something anyway.:wall:

thanks for the kind words guys,i am back to slidell(staying with an uncle till my house is ready in about 2 months)i towed the car to the body shop to start on the quarter panel.i wish i could have waited till i had some more money but the landlord told me i had to move it so the crew could fix my house, and i had nowhere else to go with it.the owner of the shop(who is a bit pricey)told me that my P/S wheel to bumper patch and my D/S door to wheel patch will run me about 800 bucks, does that sound about right?

i salvaged as much stuff for my vehicle as i could, but i need a TON of stuff now.the waterline on my house was about 2 ft above the roof of the car.all of my interior (what was left anyway)is disgusting and rusting from the saltwater.the hurricane occurred about 6 weeks ago,so i am sure you can all imagine!

none of the engine parts are salvagable minus the block i had put in the shop about a week before the storm, but may still be used as cores i guess.

glad to be back guys ....time to hit the swap meet section!

Glad you're safe and are on the road to recovering your home.

Slidell? Wasn't that right on the water? I think my old boss lived there.

Got rid of all my Challenger stuff with the car.. Have a lead on parts a few hundred miles from here but I am saving money up to get a Barracuda :) what is your time frame for getting car out of body shop and starting on int?

Yikes! I hope you can get back to a "normal" life soon. :( Now yah know what a canadian 2 year old car looks like. :D
