I too, would consider the offshore stuff to be of lower quality. I heard some stories of piss poor machine work (out-of-round), and problems balancing them.
Also, I saw a pic in Hot Rod, or Mopar Muscle, or Car Craft (can't remember) ((Marco Radovic??)) of a china rod, that was shattered through the beam, resulting in one DOA 340-based stroker. Both ends were still intact...
Most rod failures, are in the bolts, or the cap. A shattered beam leads me to believe a metallurgical defect was present.
OTOH, there's thousands of people out there running those things, with success...
S'up to you, if $850 is worth the risk. Just like anything else...
