Southwestern Ontario Help Needed

Do any members who live in Southwestern Ontario know of anyplace that straightens rims. Harry's Spring Service in London was the only one I was aware of and I found out today that their machine that they use is broken and seeing it was made in the 1940's they can't get parts for it.

I have 5 original rims for my 67 Fury that have clips on the rim for the dogdish hubcaps and when I went to have them balanced they could not do it because they are "out of round". They balanced the rims side to side on the car as best they could, but I get a shimmy out of them. If anyone knows of anyone in the area send me a PM.

Thanks

Try Wheel Covers Unlimited, in Windsor.

They've done some pretty farked up aluminum wheels for me in the past and the results were great. I'd bet steel would be easy for them.

Thanks for the info on Weldcraft, I sent them an e-mail and we'll see what happens.........

Bob, TREL is a local machine shop

I heard that they were capable of doing stuff like wheels, XL knows a little more about them than I do. They've been around a long time and have a decent rep.
Might be worth a try. :)

Another option is www.wheelsamerica.com. I haven't used them personallly yet, but that's where the wheels I have that need work will go. A close friend used them and was amazed by the results--but those were aluminum, and that's what they showcase on their site. Still worth checking out, though you'd have to ship internationally.

Posted a similar thread on the C-Body Drydock forum and got a reply that it could be the balance machine. The guy works for Goodyear and they have had problems with Magnum 500's and some other manufacturers wheels doing this and they use a "Fingers" adapter on their balancer. London has a Goodyear, I'll give them a call and see what they say..........why not............
