so you want to build an engine do you

I've seen that before. Just imagine if you could that kinda torque that low in the RPM's on a regular engine [smilie=e:

soooo thats where all the surplus fuel went

Even at it's most efficient power setting, the big 14 consumes 1,660 gallons of heavy fuel oil per hour.

just imagine the torque wrench ...or throwing a rod

When I visited the museum in Chicago they had a spare connecting rod out of the Titanic on display.They carried spares on board.I bet the big end was 3 ft across.so this isnt anything new here its just another example of the japs copying someone elses design and putting a little slant on it.Pretty sure GM has the patent on 2 stroke diesels still. My bro-in-law has worked at a Fairbank-Morse plant for over 30 years, They have been building stuff way more exotic then the Jap version. From some of the stuff he tells me I'll lay money that the crank won't handle the torque of that many cylinders.

One of the more elaborate engines he described had twin cranks with the pistons meeting in the center of the cylinders. Kind of like an inverted opposed-cylinder engine.

This is a turbocharger for one of the Fairbanks engines;

Imagine milling the head and head gasket replacement. About the cost of three small cities.

And do you turn the crank, or does the lathe turn around the journal?

Where is Wong?

Um he was last seen working on cylinder #3, but must have went to lunch when we put the head on. Havent seen him since.

Ok then fire her up

OH UH :D [smilie=a:
