SLOWING MAKING HEADWAY

Hi Some of you may remember my daughter's http://moparnuts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7495 dart, I finally found a good /6 head for it and I picked up a set of recon rods and good +0.030 pistons. For the 65 2door post went backwards the "new" rear axel failed I had to install a used one in last month. For the Power Wagon I found a truck 440, and in a 2nd yard I picked up the corrct mounts. Also a B727 case to replace my POS broken trans case. Remember JEEP CJ5 Well the new trans and transfer work great, but it still made BAD sounds over 35 MPH the rearend WAS TOAST GERR Replaced it now have better gears for the tires. New problem fog of oil smoke 1 min after startup untill oil gets warm I guess it is sucking in the guides,
The Diplomat got its FE rebuilt and a full tune up it runs great. I have a line on a 77 w100 power wagon /w 360 and a 68 C fury /w 440 both cheep. As i am picking up parts here in Co and I am working on every thing in AZ I need the truck to haul, untill I get the beast done.

How long does it smoke? Sounds more like the rings havnt bit yet. Sloppy guides usually blow a cloud on startup and then quit soon after. What kind of crosshatch did you end up with on the cylinders? [smilie=e:

Same old motor

All I did to the motor B4 it started smoking was let it sit starting it every few weeks. And I moved from Az to Co. Sence then I figured the rings stuck so I used a top end cleaner, it got worse. Also there is no blow by. All I have ever seen for guides was a puff on startup and when you slow down.

There is one other strange problem there is what sounds like rod knock that starts the same time as smoke. ( fog) So i replaced the rod bearings No Change.

After 2-5 min of fog the oil warms and no smoke it even passed the smog test. I will not drive it I have a backup motor. Will rebuild it and install it, wish I could install somthing mopar but the parts I have rebuilt will have to be swaped so I will keep the Kaiser V6, to that end I picked up a offy 360 deg intake, plan to use a 500 cfm, square-flange, manual choke ....#1404 that should work well if I port the heads a little, isky makes a small 256 deg cam. But this is on the back bunner until I get the 440 built for the power wagon

Clearify

I am working on 5 projects at one time

The pistons are for the dodge 225 /6

The jeep has a stock org (buick) V6 also 225

Only 5? You slacker, I guess I didnt know which motor then. What I was wondering is if the cylinders had a lot of taper or if they were fresh bored. I try to have at least 10 things going at once that way you can always find something to do. [smilie=e: I had an old jeepster with a buick V6, I think it was a 231. I know they put 2.8s in some and anything they could come up with cheap basically.

The guy I picked up the jeep from upgraded his other CJ5 to a 231 with FE it was sweet but I am going cheep and stock on this
