*sigh* I'm bored

Behind my Polysphere making engine noises and
Just tossing some idea's around in my head. Nothing serious, but still, information would be cool.

One, i got to thinking with the Dakota. I've got an idea to do a turbo charged 3.9 (simular to Buicks Grand National, the 3.8 V6 Supercharged Two-Door Coupe, more precisly, the 1987 GNX, the Grand National eXperiment). If i could get the money together (after college obviously), that would indeed be fun in a truck....and a killer at that (thinking of getting custom made emblems that say DSX "Dakota Sport eXperiment"....i smell a lawsuit LOL) But i was also thinking of Jass there about his 340 Conquest idea. Now, i have no Conquest being offerd to me, or older supera (or even old RX7), but i was thinking of that 3.9 in one of those cars (they do have production supercharger and intercooler for the V6, its made for the Gen III Dakotas/Durango's, but i could make it work) would be fun. And since that Dakota body and frame (and transmission....its an AX-15, as Jass said "Those things will last forever providing you don't drive them :doubt: :D ") but the engine will still be going strong. Plus the PCM is set to manual already, so keeping it fuel injection is no problem, and knowing that the driver is doing the shifting too.

I was also thinking about those 3.0 V6's too. I know about their problem uptop, and the fact that Jass says they supposedly fix that problem after 93', but the reason why i was thinking of those, is that they used to be run in these mini-indy cars in the "Shelby Series". All Dodge 3.0 V6 rear mounted engines and transmissions.

So for some strange reason, i'm, itching to make my own car of sorts, pretty much make something out of existing parts that can be found in the junkyard or bought over the counter, the poor mans custom car LOL. Even if that means bastardizing a Supera with a 3.0 LOL, something fun and i might be able to join an auto-enthusiest club.

I grew up around the dirt oval, but i love taking turns going both left and right :gaga:

But all this is just boredom induced thinking, and nothing is going to be done until there is a cash flow after college. If anything, my "beater" car might be the LeBaron if i can save that...otherwise, i'll have a 2.2 Turbo with no home.

Oh, and another question....Do they still make intercoolers for the 2.2 Turbo that would work in a LeBaron? :D

Find a wrecked Stealth R/T Turbo and rob the 24V heads and both turbos off it... it's the same basic 3.0 below the head gaskets.

I think Spearco might still make intercoolers for the K-based Mopars... under the skin, they're all the same from the K-cars to Shadows to the minivans.

:bwuhaha: You know, now you just poured more fuel on the fire there

But i will check out Spearco there, once ofcource, when i aquire the LeBaron

lol intercooler...go over to turbododge.com and look at the intercoolers that fit on there rides lol

Take one five-speed '85 Aries coupe.

Install '73-'79 B-body front suspension--it's amazingly similar to the F-body in its four-bolt mounting arrangement, but handles better due to longitudinal torsion bars and proper strut rods. You need only make mounts for the torsion-bar crossmember, which is a bolt-in affair on those cars. Get one from a '76-'79 car for its huge 11.75" brakes.

Jaguar or T-bird IRS, mid-3 gears.

Tremec TKO 5-speed backing up said Stealth motor... which should be plenty modified.

Quiet dual exhaust with both exits on one side, working AC and cruise. Recaro seats. LeBaron V6 dash and instrument cluster (easy bolt-in and plug-and-play).

The front and rear track would be wide enough to require positive-offset, FWD-lookin' wheels; something in a nice fat 16" so as not to raise much suspicion. Hell, use widened 16" Intrepid steelies (they'll bolt up) with hubcaps.

And a camera to capture the looks on Z06 owners' faces when they finally catch you on the far end of a mountain pass.

*tosses match on poured fuel* :D

Well, I said "coupe", but it would certainly be quite a coup if you could pull it off. :D

I know where there's just such a car, in pristine shape... assuming she hasn't sold it. It's a 2.2L/5-gear, ice blue, blue interior, runs perfectly. Stretch knows the woman as well; I don't know if he's familiar with the car, though.

Copy/paste/save as.....:hmmm:

Sweet!! Could such a monstrous transformation be done to a Sprit too?

Just an idea (those seem to be pletyfull around here)

Man i can't wait to see the eye's light up in rage when they see something like this fly by them at 100+ :bwuhaha:

Why not? Same car under the skin... of course, a Spirit isn't as econobox-lookin' as a K-coupe, but no one would expect it if you started with a base model and left all the hoochie-pow aero crap off it.

This would work....
