Sigh. I dun gone and dun it. :(

XLR8R

exhalted master of his nuts
I bought another bike. Sigh. I was told very strictly never to ride again, by numerous professionals, but I am not listening. *lalalalalalalalala* :D
Once you have this bug, it just never goes away.
for those of you that didn't know, I rode/raced for 24 years up until I was taken out quite smartly by a moron on a Polaris Sportsman 700 ATV. So, for 6 years I sit, whining about being in pain, moaning about not riding.....so piss on it. I am gonna hurt anyway, I might as well go down flailing. :D
I found a smokin deal on an old 2001 Suzuki DRZ400e and tugged it home. After an afternoon of serious toying and cleaning and tweeking, I got it to a state where it is a happy little runner. :)
Not a very powerful bike in comparison to my last mount, but really manageable. It isn't like I will EVER ride like I did anyway, so if I can have fun, I am going for it.
Now......when I wreck myself and end up losing my beloved leg, you can all say " I TOLD YAH SO!" :D:D:D

I want one, sadly wifey said no! I'd talk more bout it but she'll make me sit in the corner again.

I prefer to do it in the street, it doesn't abuse my body as much as the dirt.

i dont want to know about your fornication practices [smilie=f:

xl i grew up rideing..got my first bike when i was 5 a 1980 honda z50 right off the show room floor..i was being groomed to race since my dad was a racer localy and had litteraly boxes of trophys...so i know all to well about the bug.....but i aint got no one to ride with and that kills the fun of it outright.....if ya want a bike you can toss around and wont beat on ya..look into one of the aluminum framed honda 400's a friend of a friend has one and that is one light manageable sweet bike

Well, I bought this DRZ and like all of its vintage it is aluminium. The Hondas don't cut it power wise, even in my passive riding state it would drive me nuts. This one is no powerhouse either, but is much stronger than an XR400R.
If I feel like I can ride still, I will probably create another new clone of what I was riding, but in the new version. They seem to be able to hop the WR450F up to about 60hp now....
This one will be fine for now. :)

Abra Cadabra *poof* You are now a bike rack.

I was gonna say lay off the meds before a big ride and then you'll know when you hurt yourself.

Nice bike XL, someday I would like the street legal version of the same for putting around town.

I would be miserable without a bike in the stable, I'm happy for ya. :)

*speaks from end of motorcycle rack*
Thanks beep! IT is pretty tame and fun, so far! :D

And so it starts anew. The old "just a wee bike, nothing more". Then a newer one comes home, but with another 100-150ccs more displacement. Then another replacement for that one, then another, then.... "Oh look, the footpeg rubber is dirty, gotta go out and get the MagmaBehemothMX3900 with clean footpegs."

And its great ain't it? Good luck Jon and hope ya have a blast.

Yeah, maybe 6er. Seems to be the way it was....dunno if the old bod will keep up though. ;)
thanks Orvil, no...really. *giggles* :shifty:

Nice bike. Dirt bikes kinda scare me but I'd gladly take a road bike as long as it wasn't a crotch rocket. My 1st bike is now a 400cc Go-Kart....last I knew anyways... 69.5?
