Need a rock-solid daily for less than seven grand? Look no further... just enough warts (and doors) to not feel bad about running it. That steering wheel's gotta go, though.

dont get me wrong, i like these bodys, but the grill from an impala has always felt out of place

Good price. I'd drive it.
Dad had a '64 Belveder, slant six, three on the tree, light blue metallic with a painted white roof.
He bought it in the fall of '64, used with 5k on the clock.
He sold it for the engine around 1980, with 270k on it. The body was amazingly good, considering Nova Scotia's insistence on painting the roads white at the first sign of snow, with only a few holes in the fenders.
That was intro to Mopars, so I've got a massive soft spot for '64 Plymouths.

I prefer the '65 as well, but that's not what popped up in an ad. For something in which I'd bash about daily, I don't care nearly as much. In fact, I'd rather have something with which I'm not totally in love so there's little to no guilt--hence my '68 Valiant. It's a good car, it's just... well, dumpy-lookin'. 😄 I used to really dig the '67-'68 Valiants, but I much prefer the '69 model these days.

agreed on all counts, i dig the 64 and 69 valiants , after 69 you cant ID them from a dart half the time
as far as a daily goes something your not fully in love with that gets beat n thrashed on creates its own type of love....the lil 07 yaris has shown me that, cheep pos shit box, and at this point i bloody adore it for its light cheep fun

I prefer 62-63 myself, The roofline is cleaner IMO.
It's virtually the same roof. All the glass interchanges. The only real difference is the early roof has a bit of a "visor" over the back window. I think the cleanliness comes from the lack of Fury chrome stuck on every vertical element of the roof structure, which makes it look bulkier.

Definitely a better car, and at half the money, too.

There's just something about the roof line especially on the 64-65 Dodge sedans. It might be a stacking of my intolerances based on the sum of the angles of the car too.

I remember first noticing the roofline on a 62 4-door drag car that IIRC restoman had. The word sleek comes to mind.

see and i think the whole package of the 2-3 is just a better execution ..the grill flows as does the tail..everything seems to make sense, where the 64 just feels like alot of ideas taken from alot of places and just slapped on....in a way worse than AMC..the "flow" just isnt there

Nope, t'weren't me that had the drag car.
My Beetle has been dragged up on the back of every tow truck in the county, but that's it. ;)
