well while out at the wrecker looking for 5spd minivan parts since my auto has to be out for a rebuild and being moms in a chair/bed...i cant be without transportation for her for more than a few days "just in case" ..aside from the fact that i need to haul an alfa back from tacoma(142 miles 1 way)..makeing the minivan operational and reliable was a must.....being the llyod isnt doing anything till i sort out what ever the hell im doing for a front end(and this alfa im picking up may be it) i figured may as well use the 5spd you guys sent me...it WILL end up back in the lloyd but meanwhile ima play with it...

well i got all of the parts AND scored me a set of very VERY old h4 small(5 inch?) cibies..EXACTLY the same as 2 of the 4 on my 58 already so SCORE for a full set now..also found a set of small maxtel H4's as well that are going in the lloyd i think...along with the hood grate/scoop from an 80s fwd turbo car..with a wild haired idea

well first off the van shifter was a NO GO..since no gears are in the same spots on a van shifter...so i turned to the lloyds shifter from a neon ..knowing i wanted a very VERY short shift for the lloyd..i figured what the hell and dove in..raised the shifter section itself 1 inch then cut both shift arms off..and added 1/2-1inch to them makeing a nasty SHORT shifter..got it all in the van and other than 3rd gear down shift being a little grindy..its nice and even with a tall arm on it its still a SHORT shift..and being able to here the BOV is fun in itself.....now for the hair braining

any of you that have an 80s mopar mini know that the air inlet for them well sucks and 2 golf balls would get stuck in it..and a turbo is suposed to breath thru this...stock?!?!?!?!? worse is the fact that theres nowhere to get freshair..anywhere unless you dont have AC and hell if im loseing that..a while ago i found a k&N that fit the tiny lil stock airbox out at the wrecker and removed the BOV from the box..what an improvement ..but a short time ago i ended up with a rather large flat k&n filter just sitting taunting me..
ill let the pic's speak for themselves...
step by step

the airbox needs some drains and a few other very minor details but nothing a few mins with the drill grinder and welder wont fix...course mounting the airbox is a whole nother mission entirely..since i need to basicly make a strut tower brace to mount it to..but i have a lowwer half plastic airbox that will hold the filter in place as well as make plumbing very easy...admitedly the hole in the hood is a little to far back on the underside of the hood but its where it looks right on the outside....yeah that little tiny thing on the right is the stock air box
