Schumacher headers ?? should i ?

Chrome doesn't hold up well for headers because of the heat, unless they are double-wall. Even then you will see some bluing. That's the reason that you see a lot of either black or white after-market exhaust systems on motorcycles.

the chrome part really isnt my consern i just want to know if Schumacher Creative Services headers are good and will work on my rr with the original 440 non engine swap deal . :bravo:

If you're no concerned about the chrome I would try to find some ceramic coated. They cut down the underhood heat, look tits and won't rust.;)

Is the 71 & later B-body chasis any different than the 68 - 70 chasis?

Maybe Beeper could steer you towards another brand.

68 , ceramics would be great , but im looking at $$$ these SCHMACHER headers are priced right . theier web site says 62 and up B body so im not sure what the dif is as to fit

basicly if i can get quility headers at a good price then i win . but i never heard of these headers i want to know if they are good and will work with my rr . otherwise its back to the search for hooker supper comp headers :bravo:

Those look like a decent enough header to me Rav. Looking at the pics I see no reason why they won't work...I'd give 'em a call with your application and ask lots of questions. ;)

Another option is the Headman shortys, I have those on mine they fit fine and are also affordable.

BEEPER , do you have a pic of the headman shortys ? is there any differnce in performance with short headers compared to reg heades ? the 440 is going to be about 550 horse power and will need to breath well .

these headers i found are listed on the graiglist in pittsburgh .

thanks RANDY :bravo:

For optimum performance a long tube header is the way to go but for street duty the short header gets the job done without sacraficing ground clearance. My 451 is in that 500 horsepower range Rav and the shortys seem to let it breath just fine. For all out racing and the quest to gain every precious 10th of a second possible the full length fits the bill but I think you would be satisfied with the shorter header.

Here is the Hedman shorty, summit racing has them for a decent price.

thanks for the pic BEEPER :bravo: im waiting for the guy to send me pics of the SCHMACHER headers , they sound like a good deal to me . im just not to keen on having to redo my exhaust . :toot:

I have a set of shumachers on my Newport and they are awesome!

The chrome does blue but the nickle underneath still looks way beter then rust.
