Saw something sad last night

Jester

In through the Out Door, so She's
Was driving home from the gym in my Tracker last night (no, that's not the sad part... though feel free to shed a tear or two for me) and had to abruptly slam on my brakes.

Sitting in the middle of the road, was a 12 or 13 year old girl. After thinking "oh shit, who hit this sweet little kid?", I saw a dog laying completely limp between her legs. She was shaking, crying and talking on her cell phone.

I saw the truck and the big guy with tears in his eyes, watching the girl... and was going to stop in front of the girl to put my hazzards on, but a cop flipped on his lights behind me and I continued home.

Tears ran down my face for the first time in a long while. Oh well, I still hate my dog :)

yup truly sucks, been on both ends, neither is better,

May all your frizbees be edible little puppy!

Yeah ,that is sad.
Not to make light of it or be an asshole, but I betcha the dog was running loose when he got clobbered, and if so, it's really too bad an animal had to die because the owner didn't care enough to protect him.

or properly train him

mine knows his boundrys and has known them since he was less than 6 months

my dog just ran away too .. (purebred collie) i think he got scared from the fireworks and took off.

Chedder has never left the property or ever come close to the roads ... he does patrols of the farm every morning walking the circumference of the farm. He goes to bed in the barn every night.

Ended up getting a call that he was 3 concessions over hanging out with the sunshine asparagus guy. Guess Chedder just wanted a bit more greens in his diet.

Years ago...I had the car in front of me hit a golden retriever...he didn't stop...I did and jumped into the ditch but the poor dog was already dead....it's neck was broken...I found the owner and carried the dog to there house.

Yup, sad but it's an animal and they do stupid things sometimes.

That's terrible..... Last weekend while I was at work a little girl told me the story how she and her mother witnessed someone hitting a deer. The person who hit it didn't stop. The longer she told the story, the more tears came down her face. She must have been 4-5 years old. I felt pretty bad. You know at that age, they'll remember such horrific experiences.
