Any word from Rusty? Anybody else affected?
I still have a tree stuck in my house.
Tuesday morning.

That afternoon.

Hopefully I won't have too much out of pocket from my neighbor's tree.

Ouch is right.

I've been wondering about those guys. Hopefully, they are high and dry - well, as dry as possible.

One of our friends had their neighbors tree fall on their house and their insurance had to cover the damage not the tree owner. The sad thing was they had just sold the house but the possesion wasn't duue for about a month. It hurts that your house was damaged but at least everyone is safe.

Greggles is in CA, last I knew... but it sure would be nice to hear from Mr340 and the Rusticle right about now.

From what I've heard South Jersey fared rather well, North Jersey was pounded like a ... well umm beat up pretty badly. They had 5 or 6 sub stations go down, so they should be coming back online in the next day or 2.

North western Jersey checking in. We got hammered pretty badly, not so much by the rain but by the wind. 86% of the JCP&L customers in the state lost power, and the company spokesperson said today that it will be 7 to 10 days before the majority of service is restored. 80% of the damage was done by falling trees, the rest just old utility poles that just failed.

I was lucky. No home damage and still had water and phone. Power is being supplied by generator. Big problem is gasoline. Most stations have no power and most of the ones that do have power are out of gas. Two of our refineries are still shut down and the distributors are not making bulk deliveries. Screwed up situation. Long gas lines at any station opened, with severe rationing and short hours of operation.

Hope our other brothers check in soon.

Glad to hear you were mostly spared, GnarlyAgedGuy. I hope you're able to keep your generator going!

I'm ALIVE!!!!
We actually did pretty good up here in the north east, considering very little rain, just wind & trees down, power out till last night, but we did not get flooded , south jersey & the shore got pounded. & for a change no large branches assulted the 'Cuda!
The job I'm supposed to be working at still has no power, a couple of towns over, pockets out all around & very little gas to be had, I had to siphon the last days generator gas out of the pick up(filled that before the storm)
still around, check in on you guys once ina while, not doing anything with the cars, not a lotta work, no money, no ambition, another year older & deeper in debt! Rich.

Glad you and the Cuda made it out okay. Feel sorry for all those that didn't manage so well. Hope you get gas and work going soon. After all the damage hopefully some of the work makes it your way.

I'm here!! Still kicking, we had lots of wind ( that damn tree out front just won't fall!!!), little rain and lost power for a day, no property damage. I got lucky with power as I am on a grid which includes traffic lights on a State Highway (can you say priority). My office has been without power all week. Greg is indeed in the San Diego area last I heard. Glad to see all the locals got thru this with minimal loss. We do start gas rationing today @ Noon (odd/even crap). Luckily I live close enough to PA that I can go there fill up and be back home faster than sitting on line at the local station that I can almost see from my front window. They say we may be in for another whopper in the coming days, we will just have to wait and see. Hope I can procure a generator if this happens again.

Great. Another nor'easter headed our way. Rain, wind, snow. Time to assume the crash position. Place your head between your knees and kiss your ass goodbye. [smilie=l:

Looks like we are going to lose power again before we ever got it back. Thank God for generators.
