Road Trip

learical

While I'm in this straight jacket, I can't be
Visiting my mother-in-law in Cleveland, OH for Christmas. Wife and 3 youngest kids are flying out, but my 17 year old an I are making a road trip. We get to bring out all the presents, and the dog. It's time for Dad to teach #1 son how to do long freeway drives, and the fine art of winter driving in bad road conditions. (like I know, only spend 2 winters in snow country) Anyway, we're leaving the Valley of the Sun late Tuesday, the 19th. If you see a steel-blue Town & Country mini van driving by, be sure to flip us off. And if we're stuck in a snow bank, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.:helpme:

Good idea to have some time with your son while teaching him how to drive in rotten weather. You can't over stress how important it is how to react with winter weather!

No snow left. The temps have been in the 40's with rain and forcasts say more of the same for at least the next week.

Put new wipers on.;)

Best way to learn to drive in the snow is to find an open parking lot and just get the thing sideways and mess with it till you figure out just how to get the vehicle where you want it when you want it to get there!! That's how I learned and I'm glad I did it too....avoiding accidents because of stupid drivers or crappy weather is one thing, you add snow and ice into that factor... [smilie=2:

Have a safe trip. I'm sure the kid will do just fine. ;)

Ya, sliding it around on a large open space it the best way to learn what ice/snow is all about.

as well as the effect of a well placed parking curb on an aluminum slot mag :bwuhaha: :bwuhaha:

There's a large expanse of open space from my left ear to my right ear, but it's difficult to get the car there when head is up my ass so frequently.

jeeze, if yah get bored you could visit a handful of members that live in the area. :) Crap. I said handful and member in the same sentence.
