Really Stupid Question

Bought a 73 Challenger, dash pad was sold on Ebag a few years ago with VIN plate still attached (stupid owner didn't know that it was supposed to be removed). How should I go about locating the original tag, or if that's not possible what is my next step. I have the title, and the body with the VIN stamped into the cowl and around the trunk area.

VIN number is: JH23G3B322534

The only legal way is to apply to your state department of motor vehicles for a state issued replacement tag.

This is NJ, there is nothing you can do short of getting the VIN tag back ( still attached to the dash with the original rivets)

get it registered in a state that applys a "new" vin to your rig..its what i had to have done on my ramcharger

I'll be the one to say what shouldn't...:shifty::naughty:

You could contact one of these repro tag guys and see if they will stamp you a new "original" tag, not legal but.... And you can get the pentastar and text from a graphic company...I know I've seen them for sale somewere.

or do as 69.5 said....:toot:
