It's never fun finding rust. '71-'74 B-bodies seem to rust in that area, but strangely enough it seems the ones I find up here in the land of salt are better than the ones I found when I was in GA. The Black Bitch was absolutely perfect in that area, whereas my '71 had a few rust issues (and that was the only place on the car).

You might also want to pop the windshield trim and check the lower corners of the glass channel... it's another notorious sore spot.

Nice work, Randy. It looks like you've got some good progress going. If you want to talk really, really slow though, consider that the LeBaron has been apart nearing six years. :D

Yeah you got your hands full! I'll be close to the same boat when I start doing my 67 Barracuda. I already did a bunch of work to it years ago but I know there is always more to get to lol. Keep up with the good work Rav! :bravo:

You're doing a good job! Just take your time and do it right the first time :) Rust is a bitch.

have the same spots on mine!!!!![smilie=l:

got the frame connectors put on yet?:giggedy:

got a little more work done on saturday we started fitting and welding in the firewall parts that generaljmwlee was kind enough to go out of his way and cut from a donar car for me . theres alot more welding and grinding and filling that needs done befoe paint but i think it looks %100 better than it did already .

No offense, Randy, but once again I'm reminded of how little you Southerners understand rust. My car is an '81, and it's 10 times worse than that. Your car being a '71-'74 car, I'd take a pick hammer to the front frame rails along the inside edge, particularly in the area of the steering box as well as a good, long poke with something sharp at the lower corners of the windshield.

Ahhhh. The good old days of bronze welding. :)
Lots of filler, lots of colours, lots of underlying rust. That's pretty much the way things used to get done in bodyshops all across the continent. No one ever expected these cars to be around 35 + years, so no one ever took the time to do a proper repair.

Around here, that car would be considered to be fairly solid.
