R.I.P. Dio!!

Fishy

Omnipotent Seaweasel
Ronnie James Dio passed away this morning apparently. Complications due to a long battle against stomach cancer from what I hear. I wasn't a huge fan of his really but, what a loss! :(

Whether or not you liked his style of music, the man had powerful pipes. He will be missed by those of us that consider ourselves rock fans.

I was surprised to find he was nearing 70 years of age.

Nodda is very sad.....:(

Liked some of his solo stuff - but as far as I'm concerned, Dio era Sabbath is the the best there was. Dio's pipes simply make Ozzy's pathetic bleating sound - well - pathetic.

I was fortunate to see them twice - once in the day on the Mob Rules tour, and a couple years ago as Heaven and Hell. For a man in his late 60's he sure belted the songs like a 30 year old....

I'm also a big Deep Purple/Blackmore fan. There was kind of revolving vocalist door in Rainbow as well, but Dio's stuff stands out among them all.

I think I posted a year or so about how much I liked the then - new Heaven And Hell album....I was really hoping to get the opportunity to hear some of those songs live. :(

Follow The Tears. :(

:fishy: <--- for Dio!! The originator of the Devil Horns hand gesture! (I don't care what Gene Simmons says, he did not start it!) I too had forgotten how much of his stuff I actually liked. He will be missed. The music world has truly lost an icon!!
