Chrysler has signed a deal with Chery, the Chinese automaker, to produce cars for export to the United States. The first cars will be sent within one year to Latin America and/or Eastern Europe, with vehicles arriving in the US within 30 months, according to Tom LaSorda. The first vehicle to be sold will be based on the Chery A1, a sedan, and will be sold as a Dodge. Future models would be co-engineered by the two companies.

They (Chrysler) are most likely trying to improve their overall emissions average for their entire product line by bringing in some uber high mpg ringers. I'd much rather they add the poo than drop some of their high performance models like the new Challenger from the lineup.
