Primer/Paint Question.

RUSTY Cuda

In over my head!
Charger man is switching body worker (again!) car is coated with a product called Rust Defender, a high build primer, does this stuff have to be sealed in any way, or is it a block & paint deal, thanks,Rich.

WAIT!!!!!!

I use Rust Defender here, it's a polyester primer - fantastic for blocking and getting things straight.
But...
If left uncovered for ANY length of time, and if handle with anything less than spotless or gloved hands, you're far better off to sand and topcoat with a urethane primer.
Make sure it's absolutely dry before spraying anything over it.

You can paint directly over top of it with no problems, if the above is followed.
Polyester primers are not water or oil resistant - they act like a sponge and will absorb everything.

Its the cat's ass for blocking, tho'. :)

Usually I say follow the tech sheets for any products, but the one DCF posted is not accurate - poly primers are NOT waterproof. Some overly ambitious saleman must have written that one.

poop.
I was reading the label - it says it seals....
