Potential HUGE Nascar news

restoman

The paint fumes have cleared so I'm
Tomorrow at 11 AM, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is expected to announce he'll be driving the 5 car next year for Hendrick Motorsports!

The most marketable and far and away the most popular driver in the series in the best equipment in the series!

Maybe now I'll hang the CARQUEST calenders and posters in my shop.:giggedy:

So I take it Kyle Busch is gettin da boot?? Those Busch brothers are whiny as hell! So is he keeping his Bud sponsorship or still running with the Carquest that the #5 currently has?

Yep, hopefully Kyle is gone. Far away.

Scuttlebutt has Jr. in the Kellogg's/CARQUEST sponsored ride, with no Bud on the car. No more sea of red in the grandstands?

i am guessing a dust off of the ole #3

at least thats what i read today in another location.*runs off to www.jayski.com *

i actually stopped watching it when they rolled out that toyota c.o.t

I think the #3 will stay off any car for a long time. The number has become an icon in Nascar, it'll be pretty dusty before it gets used again. It evokes some pretty strong emotions, still.

Didja hear Michael Waltrip is placing Terry Labonte in the 55 for the road course events? Gotta be tough for that new team, not making races and getting very little in the way of exposure on the track.

Yeah putting Jr. in his old mans number would be a huge blow to his career. Jr has spent his whole career driving in his fathers shadow for the most part....putting him in the 3 car just wouldn't be fair in a way. Unfortunately if he does go to Hendrick he'll be team mates with Jeff Gordon.:wall:

I just read about that,

"His criteria for picking a new team was finding a place he can win championships - Earnhardt has 17 career wins, but no Nextel Cup titles - and remaining in a Chevrolet."

Oh well, the GOOD thing is he won't have to go to far to continue his relationship with Gordon :bwuhaha:I don't know why they just don't come out about it

Story

Dale who?

I agree, I cant wait till he flops in the best so called equipment and then what? What the excuse then. over rated, over hyped, just like the rest of NASCAR. But wait, maybe NASCAR can stop the race before NEWMAN passes him like Gordon last week, thats NASCAR. I just wish it was 1969 again, when they used to really race.

LAWFISH

I dont think the #3 will ever be put on another car unless its a memorial race and a 1 time deal. Dale Sr. made nascar what it is today, and they know that. Nascar wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is now.

Unfortunately everybody makes a big deal about Dale Jr. who if you've ever talked with him when he isn't in "publicity mode" is one of the biggest pricks I've met in a VERY long time. The apple fell WAY off the tree with Jr.
