Going out to look at a 72 Dart Swinger, been sitting for 4 years. Guy bought a 318 long block from a local rebuilder, he says it blew a head gasket and the pan filled with coolant. It's been sitting for 4 years now.

If it's got an 8-3/4" and disk brakes under it, I'm gonna buy a lottery ticket ...

The antifreeze eats the bearings up, it's death to a motor.

The car was a pile. I think it's gonna pull in half when they go to move it out of where it is. 8-1/4 rear, drum brakes, busted grille. Not one piece of sheetmetal worth messing with.

That sucks, Bob... how much was the guy asking for it, anyhow? Might be worth a laugh if nothing else.

It was an 8.25" rear? Did they make those in small-bolt?

$300 and he's got some other parts, I didn't half pay attention to what because it didn't matter.

I guess that could've been an 7-1/4" It was sunk in the mid so all I could tell for sure was that there was at least one bolt in the rear-end cover.

Then the guy tells me his bro has a 68 440. The more we talk, the less that's there. Finally he tells me that the guy's got 3-4 engines stashed under his mobile home, the perfect environment for storing engines.

No doubt, nothing there worth messing with.

Motors stashed under a mobile home, in West Virginia no less. Who'dathunk? :D :D

Probably weren't any large cinder blocks lying around so they propped it up on big blocks instead. :D

Along those same lines, the grille in the dart was busted out because someone had chained a dog to it.

It's the kind of people you should be familiar with, living in Florida. There's more rednecks there than in WV and KY combined. :)

[smilie=r: Thats great, what a dumass. Can picture that clear as day in my head lol.
Guess the bumper was already gone? :D

[smilie=d: Oh not as funny anymore. Thought some genius just hooked a chain to the grill and said be right back boy.

Dang, don't give up the hunt! Any critters living in the cylinder bores under the "home"? [smilie=bunny.gif]

I'm supposed to get in touch with the guy about the blocks this weekend, but I think I'm gonna have something better to do.
