anyone who can run a NON mopar part # for me?

its a bendix # 1400345...or atleast thats what the # looks like to me the 3 could be an 8 and the second 0 could be a 9

id tell ya what its for but ya wouldnt find it

This reminds me of the ol feller that went to the doctor and wouldnt tell him where it hurt. He sent him to the vet because that was the only person he knew that could diagnose without any input from the patient.:doh:Is it a starter drive or what?????:jagoff:

clutch master cyl ....its alfa and im looking for a non alfa part to replace it...found that the brake master is actualy a BMW unit..but no where is there any cross referance info PERIOD

Any idea of the year?

www.rockauto.com lists a clutch master cyslinder for a 1979 2.0L Spider Veloce

That's the first entry I found with that part listed...
I checked 62 through 64 and that part was not listed at all.
Same for 93 through 95.

Then Ijust went to a random year and hit on the first try with 1979.
The part number is different, 0720813, but I'm not sure if that's the OEM number or the manufacturer's (Beck/Arnley) number...

see thats the kicker...i need something that will bolt up and function i could give a rats.. if its correct...a spider unit will work by the looks of it...but anything "alfa" adds $$$ to the unit much the way "hemi" adds to the price of anything on Ebay..good example is the BMW brake MC ..no one carries a alfa brake MC but a BMW unit is the EXACT unit all the way down to the part $..even more F-ed up is the fact that even online its 1/2 the price of the alfa gtv6 unit...looking for 83 but could care less about year make and model ..

So, for a 83 Spider, the Beck/Arnley part number is that same part number mentioned above... rockauto has it listed for $181.99. That bites...

But maybe with that much info., you've got enough to go cyber-yardin' at the alfa specific sites? Maybe?

BMW Brake master cylinders are showing up for a lot less on rockauto.. I looked at an 83 320i reman'd unit from A1 Cardone and it's listed for $39.99... Not sure if that's the right one you're looking for but I suspect other units from A1 Cardone aill be priced similarly....

i wish the alfa sites had more gear heads on em instead of alfisty's ...an alfisty is like that numbnut #s matching trailerqueeen ebody who knows nothing but that his car is perfect...trolling them for answers would get the same results as saying im putting a chevy motor in a 1970 arr cuda

i actualy yarded a mazda brake MC to make it work and stubled onto a few bmw's pulled a MC out and had it side by side with the alfa gtv6 unit 100% the same..course ive been doing that with ford/chevy/mopar for years...the clutch MC seems to be tricking me ATM cause most cars out there are cable clutched..strangly enuf a 320i is exactly what i pulled a brake MC from

Sounds like when guido built that one he scrounged stuff from different suppliers. You might get lucky again but one things for sure- you got a grinder and you arnt afraid to use it.:bwuhaha:
