the owner has said he would pay for it...but if theres a better way to go ..speak up ASAP..as this gun will be lasting me another 10-15 years minimum(or atleast thats what my old gun has done+it was well used when i got it)

btw i kinda need a semi fast answer..if im to get the gun "befor" i start final paint..so dont be shy and speak up

I like my old siphon feed guns too but the fact of the matter is less overspray means more product laid down so you get more for your money that way with HVLP stuff. They are harder to dial in, seems that you will get more orange peel and need to cut your viscosity further to get it to lay down right also. I have both and have yet to really get into the newer style guns but its worth it to switch over.

Ummm yes,the finish line models are great everyday guns, the one shown is old,as the finish line 3's just came out,but for $100 you get a touch up gun(I use mine more than my big guns, some weeks)plus I know those extra tips are $25 alone from devilbiss, and it gives you a clearcoat/color tip 1.3 and a primer tip1.8,,you can't beat that price,1 paint job will cover that purchase, and the name is quality.there is a guy on ebay selling the finish line 3's with 2 tips,,but w/out the jamb gun for $119. that's a good bargain,IMO,especially,if you only paint periodically. If you paint everyday, then lay down $1k for a SATA system, and be done with it,for life.

with the work that looks like its going to be rolling in..ive got 3-5 cars to paint in the next 8 months..so i need something that will do good work and last...maybe after the jobs i can step up to something ALOT better but if this is as good a deal as it looks....

should i jump on it asap?

That's a good buy.
The Finish Line guns are decent - not top-of-the-line by any means, but not junk either.
With some practice, they'll do allright for you. Your biggest issue will be the adjustment from bottom feeder (I mean the spray gun :)) to a top loader. The extra weight up top takes getting used to. And these guns are somewhat heavy to begin with. I have an older FL gun with a plastic body that is considerably lighter than the newer ones.
If you've never used an HVLP system before, practice lots. As said before, orange peel can be hard to get rid of.
DeVilbiss makes some pretty good spray guns and their reputation is good.

Like 69x9x9 said, if you want the real stuff, lay out the dough and get a SATA. My Digital RP kicks *ss.

Been reading along, was thinkin of buying the budget guns from eastwood, but for 20 bucks I'll move up to the finish line guns, had a sharpe, painted ok(well with me at the trigger) but it crapped out fast! Not sure what my regular gun is(not hvlp) that shoots good, but what a mess in the painting area! Rich.

69x9x9, probably true, consider I'm a first timer , gun may actually be ok, but I couldn't get the front to seal anymore, was oozing paint out the front???? [smilie=e: Rich.
