hung like a stud field mouse and
so i found a fiberglass hood for my Dakota and its red but the problem is my truck is blue :)

should i sand it all down ? or paint over the red?
should it just be scuffed up? then painted?

Just sand it and paint it. No need to remove all the red, unless it's full of cracks or badly weathered. Do you know if the red is base/clear or silgle layer paint? If it's base/clear, the initial sanding dust will be white. If it turns red as soon as you sand it, it'll be single layer and you might think about priming it just in case the red bleeds through the blue. Most times bleed-through doesn't happen, but, to be on the safe side.... it won't hurt.

I had a real brainiac working for me a couple years ago, who told me "the black paint on that car is gone all chalky". I asked him what he meant and he said "it turns white when I sand it".
He didn't last too long.

Got it painted yet? :)

no still sanding by hand :)

i am not in too big of a hurry with it but i do have to find a matching blue paint color ...

also need to find a source for some argent silver ...
