Pageing Dr. Jass

1966D100

Behind my Polysphere making engine noises and
I was pointed over yonder here by a wise old man...mainly just old LOL (68R/T).

Right now i'm looking, but i was told to check here anyway.
Looking for a 340, the block is pretty much what i need since i have my own plans for the set up, so the block is fine. Doesn't matter what vintage, later vintage if its going to be cheaper. If you (Dr, Jass) or anyone else looking at this has one, any of you know where i could pick up a block new (like aftermarket)?

Pricey for a new one. Nice to get one that's not even bored to stock yet, though, and now worries aboot metal fatigue. A few more sheckles will get you an R3 block, though.

I have two, but I don't have either up for sale at the moment. I may in the next month or so, depending on the job search. The one I'd be selling needs a sleeve in #8, but it's because of a groove--no holes. One of the spirolox came out and left about a .100"-deep low spot the length of the stroke. It magnafluxed OK; my machinist thinks the other 7 might clean up at .020", but definitely at .030".

The one I'm keeping is sleeved, too, but that one was completely grenaded. It was much worse than the expendable one but I've had it so long I'm kind of attached to it. :D That one's already sleeved and the other 7 cleaned up at .018"--it'll go to .020" when I can afford pistons for it. My plan is to make a 414 out of it, but I'm not certain yet.

ok, keep me posted, mainly on what the price is. Looking to have a 340 for a certain project i might embark on.
