It is truly, truly sickening.

I've been following it along since almost the beginning.
When I saw today's pictures, I just about hurled.

I can relate to a degree with what he is going through, but I don't think I'm as bad off. I am certainly not as bad off in terms of dollars invested.... yet.

I read that a while ago, and wondered if Chris had anything to do with that car.
What a mess.
The previous owner had to have known what he was selling.

If I paid 70 bones for someone to do that, I'd probably get cruel and unusual on someones ass.

What they're uncovering sure does look familiar doesn't it?

Wow... it took me a couple of days in between everything else I've been doing, but I read the whole thing. Simply staggering. I have to admire the guy, though, for sticking with it.

Of course, the minute I found those rear rails, the whole car would have come down to bare metal before welding a single new piece to it, rather than his "fix one, find another" method. After the rails and trunk were in place, though, I guess he was sorta committed.

That's what we did to DCF's Charger, tho' he already had a good idea of how badly f**ked up it was. We went over it completely and then he made the decision on whether or not to proceed.
This poor guy has gotten it so bad in the ass, he'll be able to shit locomotives.

I'll say this: either the seller (Brian) was an agent of BK, or he figured out quickly what a screaming pile that car was and decided to offload it quickly for whatever he could get. What makes that obvious to me is the push bar... being that crooked, one would notice it in rather short order and want to adjust it, which means looking under the car to find it's welded. Once you're there, you'd see that carved-up K, and unless you're in total denial, you're going to start looking elsewhere. Add to that all the interior problems (lights, gauges, shot steering column, etc.) and he had to know the thing was a heap if not a deathtrap.

Even now, a few months and 105 pages later, I think jb666 is being way too lenient with that guy.

My ebay post about "send me 30k and I'll build you a Christine" got dumped in the server shuffle. I'm wondering if it was not the same guy (BK).

Oh My God is all I can say. I just read all 106 pages and that jb666 guy has an unbelievable attitude. I can’t decide what part of the build shocks me the most.

As far as the guy that sold the car to jb666 not knowing that the underside of the car was rotted, all I can say is HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU BRAKE THE STARTER POST OF THE STARTER WITHOUT GETTING UNDER THE CAR!!!!
Has anyone besides me ever changed a starter on a hemi? You can’t even see it from the top of the car let alone Phock it up! He knew!

Really, it DOES look just like yours, DCF. Restoman is being kind. i SAW your car and was so frickin shocked...wow, i cannot tell you!
On the upside, what is in my garage now looks better than any part of that poor bastards heap.
i love the GM trunk, engine bay and the "one size doesn't fit all" seat covers. wtf? :(

I didn't realize DCF's car was that bad. I knew he'd found problems but had no idea they were of such grand scale.

reading that thread over there, both restoman and I were thinking that the guy that did mine moved to Houston...
