:hmmm:
i have been poking around on the interweb...
I am planning to use the direct connection mechanical holley six pack carbs on the 340.

the list numbers are 4782 and 4783. I am wondering about choke. Is there an electric choke for the center r4782 carb? 2300 series carbs:hmmm:
plan was to use some www.promaxcarbs.com parts (when i get that far)
i am not much of a carb builder so i am a bit novice :shifty: (only one rebuilt was in highschool which was a few moons ago and never tested if it worked)

I am using headers for the 340 :hmmm:

What does the passenger side of the carb look like? If it's got the standard 3-bolt Holley mechanical choke setup, the electric choke conversion kit should bolt right up.

Personally, I never ran a choke on my similar setup. She was a little grumpy in the morning, but nothing a minute or so of feathering the throttle wouldn't clear... unless I was unknowingly up against a Ford Explorer with the back bumper. :D

That is the best i have of this moment.

youll need the horn chunk i belive as well as the linkage butterfly rod etc but yeah an elec should go on there

....and a float-bowl plug. :D

Most likely a float bowl. Looks like the same butcher replaced that plug that replaced the lower ball joint on that truck I worked on last week. Thats awefull!

That one looks alright, though the price is pretty stiff for a core. It does, however, have many of the missing choke bits. Let me do some digging.

Well, much like your carb itself, it looks like the side-hung bowl it used is NLFA from Holley. The only one they have that would work is the 134-101 (around $30), but you'd have to block the transfer-tube provision as it's for a four-barrel. Also, I can't find a picture of it to see if it has the bowl-vent provision. The only thing that scares me about the eBay carb is the needle & seat setup. That's not like any previous one I've seen, though who knows. If you can transfer yours to it, great. The guy is accepting offers on it, so it might be worth low-balling him. If he accepts it, you've got a bowl I'm betting you can use and all your little choke pieces. Then all you need is the electric-choke conversion (the eBay carb is a hot air choke--but you might be able to get by just buying the electric choke thermostat).
