well after much hassle and head scratching and net searching i got the alfa semi road worthy..took it for a drive and the brakes scared me...swaped from a 20mm mc to a 23 mm mc from a bmw and wow..love the brakes..cant say enuf about them..thers a lil squish but that the old rubber lines flexing ...ill order up braided soon enuf...so i detailed out the interior shampoo'ed the carpets since it had sprung a leak at the water valve on the passenger side some time back and i had to make a new fitting from scratch..and the clutch mc had been pukeing on the driver side the floors were nasty..took it for a quick spin to check the brakes and very nice...spent 2 days cleaning it up inside and out detailed out the int as best as humanly posible and hand washed the outside..poped the hood and cleaned up in there a bit too..cleaned and conditioned the leather..got ready to go for a drive and no start..ok i know the batt is weak being old but come on...it starts the minivan still so WTF..i spent today takeing EVERY elec conection that wasent behind the dash..apart sanded cleaned and di-electric greased everything..fires right up every time like the batt is new..ahhhh DONE AT LAST......
took it for a run down the road up some winding hills and thru some high dollor houseing with sharp corners steep hills and what not...AMAZING simply AMAZING...the car has changed and is now liveing up to its breeding of a street/track car....its funny we all joke about pulling a car out of storage and vbeing grin from ear to ear on that first ride ..but ya know what my cudas have ALWAYS done that for me on a day to day basis but this....well this is like haveing a hemi anything with a suspension that can handle ANYTHING you throw at it and give you a full sense of all for tires without feeling stiff or on edge and never feel heavy or off balance ...
this old girl will have you gigling like a school girl ..hit the gas in first and chrip em or spinn till your bounceing the rev limiter hit 2nd and leave a lil more rubbber or chirp and LAUNCH all the while revving and pulling like a 1200cc crotch rocket...if your hittingthe rev limmiter in 2nd and well its hard not to your already doing 45 hit 3rd mash the gass and get shoved into the seats like a 1st gear launch at the track behind a gripping big block ..down shift back into 3rd and take that traffic like right hander at 35 and not even break the tires loose....
yeah it may not be a mopar and yeah it may be an alfa...but its still a hemi v6 ..and a sheer BLAST to drive..it litteraly makes every drive a day at the track and its VERY VERY hard to drive sensibly..ill see what i can do about a few pics tomaro after i wax it....should be a good 8 hour road trip on the 27th for my wifes b-day and so she can see her kid
