North America remainedthe primary profit engine for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in the second quarter of 2015, according to results reportedthis morning.
In North America, sales were up 8%; earnings more than doubled, rising from $650 million to$1,450 million($1.5 billion)in the second quarter of 2014.
FCA USsold 677,000 vehicles in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico between April 1 and June 30. North American profit margins increased from 4.9% to 7.7%.
The Chrysler 200 and Jeep Renegade were majorfactorsin that growth; positive net pricing, witha reduction in dealer discounts, helped increase profit margins.
