NO2. Don't care?

I know. Some of you think it's cheating, but isn't the final result what's important? We finally had a chance to experiment with the NOS last weekend, and the 'juice' certainly looks promising.
The air was poor, temps were up but we still managed a baseline run, on the motor at a respectable 10.75@122. We didn't really mess with the setup. It may have been a little rich but it did 60 foot well enuff at 1.478. Anyways..............
I gave the kid the nod to engage the juice 'after' hitting 3rd. So for about a 3-4 second burn on the retro, we ended up with a 10.54@ 129. MPH showed good gains on the HP.
So after checking plugs and such, we decided to up the ante, and flip the switch after second gear. The Dart managed a 10.25 at 132. That brought a smile to the kids face. This forced us to break out, (We we're into eliminations) so we bought back in for another crack.
The kid flipped the switch after 2nd gear again and we broke out for the last time at 10.21 at 133mph.
Not bad for a street-driven dart on a partial pass of NO2. This is still the first setting (150) of NO2. This weekend we're going to try a full pass, if we make it there.

Pretty darn quick there.

Not a big fan of laughing gas myself unless you go and fill a room with it. :D

I love the jug...the only problem is it runs out...I'm going to set XL's new bullet to run on the gas...150 shot is loads of fun...250 is even better...:nanna:

and the Dart looks great :2thumbs:

the reason i haven't gone nitrous is because very expensive long term wise. i heard it's pretty expensive fulling just one 20 lb. bottle. if it wasn't for that, i would've gone with laughing gas a long time ago. i don't hate it. if i had the money it wouldn't be a problem.

i like the dart too. looks pretty sweet. :)

Thanks for the compliments. I like the innocent look it portrays.
As far as expensive; I guess it's all relative. The payoff is likely the best you'll find, dollar vs. horsepower. The basic system was 5hundred and change. A few extras puts you in around 750. That would include the retard box and the low-fuel limit switch. The purge (not absolute) would be extra. A refill on the bottle, for me is 60.00. And that will see you get about 16-18, or so, trips down the track; depending on how crazy you get with the jets.
I never priced the blowers and turbos, but I hear they are a far site more expensive than that. And the learning curve is more intense (I suspect). I suppose it's something that should be considered before building your engine. Blowers and turbos take less compression than NO2. I guess it boils down to what you prefer.
And XL will like the boost. It is ............. uh, satisfying.

Being the track out here is at 5800 feet, the most efficient way to get down into the 9's and 10's is to spray. It's either that or pressurizers. Or $$$$$.

I hear that Bee. The bottle just makes perfect sense. Dial in a 9 pretty much when I want I reckon. Just depends on the jetting.
We won't be able to justify that thinking until after Moparfest. No time.......
