Boyd's show is back:sick:  Guess what though?! It appears his shop foreman quits in this one!!!:bwuhaha: Man Boyd is an asshole!!!:xl:

Oh and Boyd's pukefukk of a son is the wheel dept manager?? That kid is all about "Well my daddy owns the shop and last I checked the name on the building was Coddington and that's my last name so I own you...." really wanna sock that kid in the head with a crankshaft!!:bwuhaha:

Just what did Boyd ever build his reputation on anyway. All I've ever seen of his work was far more ameteur than the average car at any local low-rider club cruise.

ridler award. One of the Top dogs for one of a kind hot rods. Many people go to him to build these high dollar show poodles. He did alot with modifying bodies to the point that nothing was original on the car. Won a crap load of ridlers.

That and he did alot of cars for ZZ Top.

never knew about the zz top cars. I thought that was done by another guy in cali. I cant remember the name of the guy i am thinking of though

after a bit of research its so-cal speed shop is the one i am thinking of. they did pretty well all of his show cars.

If boyd was on that team in that time frame then ..i guess you could say boyd did em.

He left the property but dunno if he quit or not. I hope he does. I don't like Dwayne but it would be good to see Boyd lose another major part of his team!![smilie=i:

I still wanna smack his kid with a crankshaft too:shifty: :toot:

Wouldn't be funny if we saw him on the next 'Overhaulin' show :bwuhaha:
Yeah, wonder how the kid got that attitude....:hmmm:

I doubt Foose would want Dwayne. He just seems to be a large Mini-Me version of Boyd. Not to mention the guys that already left for Foose's shop, seemed to have left because of Boyd AND Dwayne...

in a word...cadzilla

in all seriousness if you track boyds progression of cars..after aluma coupe he started makeing wheels and literaly fell off the board as a true custom car builder..at wich point he seemd to build cars more off the shelf as kit cars

I hate the show but it's like watching a train wreck....you just can't look away:doh:

I know its addictive to watch, like a stupid soap opera but unfortunatly that's how the ratings keep their heads above water and getting paid. You know tons of people deal with a**holes at work everyday and the stress that comes with it, I don't understand why some people would want to watch the show. To me that just makes it more depressing and I tend to get prejudice against men after watching Boyde C. yell at his wife and employees. That's why I don't watch the show. Just my .02 cents worth.

I don't watch it either, i always got pissed off how everyone does the work, he does the yelling, and then he gets credit for the work. Everyonce in a while i saw him come out of his hole, hold up like a fender or something light, then walk away. I mean, i can understand if he was severly injured or if he was like 80 years old, but this guy still looks spry for his age. I understand, yeah he has deadlines and cutomers, and sometimes you have to yell to keep order, its a business, and its all about making money. But, he does to much yelling and not enough "good job guys" "Well, my crew were the ones who built the car, i just supervised, they deserve the credit" or even "Hey, looks like you need some help" insted of "Wothless pieces of ****"

But thats my 2 cents as well

I never understood why they had deadlines...

It gets done when it gets done, but it gets done right.

Sure, there's things like show dates to meet and stuff like that, but cripes, they should know by now how long it takes to do what they need to do to build a car.
Schedule properly for it and add in some buffer for screwups.

I'm pretty sure they can find work to fill in the time should they actually finish ahead of schedule. Like, get a head start on the next project or help out on another that's falling behind. If not, they can always go out on one of their idiotic field trips instead of going the day before one of their deadlines when there's "3 days worth of work left and only half a day to do it."

If someone brings them a project with an unrealistic schedule, say, "No."
If you say, "Yes", then hire on some extra help on a contract basis and keep everything else on track. If you're doing double the work, you're making double the money, so why not double - or almost double the workforce?
Of course, you could probably get away with much less than double the workforce, but you see my point, right?
You'd then have the opportunity to hire experts based on the requirements of the project.
If you use this as part of your marketing and sales strategy, the high-dollar customers are not going to mind. In fact if you do it right, you can charge more.
