I need a new truck guys, Fullsize, 4x4, 4dr, tow package to haul a 21 ft travel trailer easily.
Whats everyone's choices?, gotta be less than 25K to clear the Zilla financing dept.
GM?, Furd?, Ma Frua?.
I get invoice from all 3 so my price is going to be low to begin with then throw in rebates and POW, I can buy way up and not get killed $$ wise.
Fling the poo monkies!

Simple.

Dodge Cummins. [smilie=e:

Just used one to haul the RR to the track and loved it 15 MPG with all the power you need. [smilie=c:

This was all on twisty two lane and I had to do some quick power passing on some slower traffic.. 70 mph came up right quick and made passing a dream. [smilie=e:

My next truck will be a Cummins,I am sold. [smilie=bunny.gif]

One of my neighbors at the shop had a 2003 Dodge with a Cummins, used it to tow his chip trailer. He traded for a 2004 with the Hemi.
He wants his Cummins back.
The Hemi has loads of power and sounds pretty good, but it is not up to heavy hauling the way the diesel was.

Damn, a 21 foot trailer? I pulled a 32 with my 4.7 with the trailer package...no sweat.

What about Richmixtures? Cheap, next to knew and a Hemi....

The great equalizer here is the altitude, they all suffer badly. The dakota's also getting trans morning sickness and not wanting to go unless it's started in nuetral and left to run for a minute or so to get the blood flowing.

i only have a 1500 quadcab ram 5.2 (318) no problem. i did reinforce my rear springs with 1 leaf. the trailer has a 10,000 GVW & is 24 feet long

Diesels know nothing about altitude. Go with the Cummins and yu will never look back.

Don't know WTF is up with Diesel right now, damn stuff jumped a quarter in places over night.

It's cheaper than gas up here.

Well, after driving the Furd 150 and today driving a Dodge 1500 with the hemi and 3:92 gears I think I'm staying with mopar. I did a lot of checking and drove a diesel for a day but that extra 3-5K for the diesel the budget (See Zilla!) just couldn't stand the payments much more.
The one I found is 35,595.00
Employee discount to 30,473.00
truck rebate -2500.00
1/2 ton bonus rebate -1000.00
Finance thru DC -1500.00

$25,473.00 + tax is looking real sweet right now.
2004 SLT Quad Cab 4x4
BUT, it's got those ugly arse 20 inch wheels on it....$876.00 option!
Fog lamps, 6 disk cd, 3.92 SG rear diff, tow package, HEMI, 5spd auto trans, pw,pl , rear window defroster.

What ya think?.
That $189.00 chrome bug deflector is getting jettisoned too, to much bling for the gio.

Sounds nice gio,I say go for it. I don't mind the 20's on the truck but the $$$ of tire replacement is painfull. [smilie=w:

Thats why the 20's have to go, 18's are at least more readily available and I'm not a fan of the low profile tire/ wheel stuff and I like heading west every once and a while and hitting some of the old mining 4x4 trails here, the 20's dont look solid enough to me to handle the turf out here off road.
