I've got a line on some of those am/fm thumbwheel radios. A friend of mine says he knows someone with a few like the ones I am looking for. (68-69 AM/FM thmbwheel) I would love to know what to look for as far as part numbers or other markings to make sure I'm getting the right radio.

Saw one on e-bay the other day but it said "Dodge" on the dial. Far as I know, the correct am/fm thumbwheel for a plymouth b-body should say "Chrysler Solid State" on it...right? I've also seen some with nothing on the dial...no writing...is that correct or did someone replace the plastic cover?

Beer to any that can help! (I owe at least a keg or two around here already...)

jeez. I wish I still had that picture of the radio service manual.
It had all of the 69 model numbers on it.

I can tell you that a 69 Dodge B-Body should have:

A label with a serial number that starts with 9FBBCC
Part number 2884 632
A Pentastar logo with "BENDIX MARK" beside it.

The face of a Dodge radio says "Chrysler Solid State"

I'll see if I can dig up more info.. At the very least I can get you the part numbers.... Plymouth B-Body, right? 68 or 69 - I fuzzget

If I remember correctly, other models from the same year will start with 9FBB as well... the last letters changed based on the application.

My parts book says the only AM/FM thumbwheel for a Plymouth is part number 2884765

It is describes as "AM, FM Multiplex w/Push Button and T/Wheel"

Multiplex - that would have the box thingy on top of the glove box that split the signals out into "stereo", I think...

Do you have multiple front dash speakers?

Yep..a 69 b-body vert. Only one speaker in the middle... which kind of makes me wonder how "stereo" was supposed to happen. But there it is right on the build sheet...
