Can anyone point me at a source for correct, restored carbs? I'm running an Ed right now...(works great) but show season is a coming and I want to get those points.

So the AVS went on the 4 sp cars only then? Not that Im showing mine but Ive always liked them better and thats what I have.

The AVS's were used on ALL HP engines from 68 -70. The LoPo's got the Holley 600's.
Auto's used a different # than manuals.

That part should be the same except for jetting.

Wrongo, 440 AVS's were rated at 725cfm and 340 & 383 used 625's.
Externally they are identicle, but the secondary throttle bores are too large to open into a 383 manifold.

69 w/383 auto should #4616S

I was referring to the vaccum secondary holley oh wizened one - not mine. Sorry for hitch hiking da thread.

According to http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Kdodge.htm,

1969 -- 383 A/T W/AC Carter AVS #4638

Must be your lucky day Mannye, the only NON-440 carb that I have is a #4638 date code J1

I don't know the coding for these, maybe someone else does.

It's a clean looking carb but is missing the idle screws, (don't think I've got any extras), a small part that the choke-rod/choke pulloff connects to. (I may have one of these)

The only other problem is the secondary shaft is stuck. It doesn't appear to be highly corroded and should free up by soaking in carb cleaner

Send me your addy so I can box it and get shipping quote on Tue.

You got mail... gimme gimme gimme !

Now find me a Thumbwheel radio and take the rest of my money away from me...

If you need any tips on setting this up when you get it in let me know, I have picked up a few tricks on holleys over the yrs. When they are working right, nothing beats them as far as performance goes. And a siezed throttle shaft is a good thing at this point. tells us its not loose.;)
