Neato find!!!!!

71_DEPUTY

Clear the track for Johnny Mac because I'm
at the local flea place!!!!!!

1965 date on the back.

For this tach to work you have to feed the +12 volts to it and then to the + side of the coil- yes-- in series!!!!!!!!

any body seen one before????

Just had to buy it due to it been old ( opps sorry guys- but I'm older than the tach!!! ) lol

Seen one of those at the Jefferson swap meet this past weekend. [smilie=c: The guy had an impressive collection of old tachs for sale, to bad he wanted a kings ransom for 'em. [smilie=s:

same company that made over the counter direct connection and hustle stuff tach's,I had a '69 999 coded omaha orange,4 speed RR that I bought a few years ago, that had an original dealer installed faria tach, they had a white face in '69,but same looking needle etc.,I bought the car from the orig. owner and he verified having it installed ,because he didn't like the little factory installed unit. it was a typical steer column "monkey friggin' a football" mount.

they did have different maker's,of tach's,but Faria was alway's a good tach, liquid filled ,which in those day's was bigtime, kept the needle from buzzin' all over the place,it never said mopar on it like the cheapy dixco's,it was just an off the shelf stocked item,or could be ordered, like stewart warner guages,

Faria made most of the later in-dash tachs, too. I'm not sure about the E-body unit, but I think '71-'74 B-body, and definitely all '75-up B, were Faria-built. Quality stuff, very accurate.

BTW, those Dixco hood tachs were in the J.C. Whitney catalog up until recently... within the past year or two. No brand markings, but that unmistakable, far-too-tall profile. I think I'd rather have a Pontiac hood tach refaced. :D

I alway's liked the pontiac hood tach,I had a few firechickens and goats,I remember having one or 2,,they looked cool with the pontiac ram air bullet hood scoops.
