If only that were true. They're giving him Leno's spot shortly. Two words, Jimmy: Conan Fuckin' O'Brien. The only advantage to Leno's being fired is that he doesn't give a rat's ass anymore and his monoloques have gotten sharper and funnier (though I'm still not a fan of his).
