Year was 1968, a one-hit-wonder group, and this wasn't the one hit. However, it was a classic with the hippies, of which I was one......
Lyrics:

Look beneath your lid some morning,
See those things you did not quite consume,
The world's a can for your fresh garbage.......
Look beneath your lid some morning,
See those things you didn't quite consume.......
Your fresh garbage......

That's it, that's all ya get. Hope there are lots of you out there who are at least my age. Or have obscure tastes in music. Good luck!

1968, I was just a wee one year old hippie then :)
no, I didn't look at the link it might hit me later

I was already "in the work force"
I wasn't born for another 2 years. 1970, but since I am a product of the free love hippie lifestyle, I gotta a line on you babe.
That album is still in my mothers stack o' vinyl at "home".

And, somewhere down in a box in the basement with all the rest of my vinyl, is the self-titled Spirit album that contains "Fresh Garbage". Love that song........ Unfortunately, I no longer have a turntable to play it on..:(

I hate to admit it, but I had to show my 18 yr old son how to use a rotary phone the other day. It even worked!
As for the turn tables, my boy learned a long time ago he is not DJ anybody and if I ever catch him "scratching" he dies. I might be a hippies kid, but I amaze myself how many of those old songs I know.
By the way Capt Beefheart says hey!

oh crap, I was "scratching" Reo's Riding The Storm Out siren opening (awesome creepy at about 1.5 rpm) on the old peoples console HI-FI. haha spell checker doesn't recognize hi-fi :D

ahhh Nature's way was their "one-hit"

Deaf now so can't "listen" to garbage
